Aurvedic Medicines (Aloe vera)


Aloe vera, commonly known as Indian aloe in English, Korphad in Marathi, Ghikumari in Hindi and Kanya in Sanskrit. Leaves are used in medicines. The plant is is a perennial Herb. It grows in very dry and poor soil.

**Uses of Aloe vera:-
1: Tender leaves mixed with powder mixed with powder of cumin seed and sugar candy is an excellent remedy in dysentery with blood stools.
2: Leaf juice mixed with opium and applied to forehead relieves headache.
3: Leaf juice mixed with oil and boiled makes a fine fine hair oil used for sleeplesness.
4: Leaf juice with turmeric is given in glandular enlargment, sleen diseases.
5: Its piles are good against muscular pain.
6: A salad of leaves is given to cure indigestion, constipation and flatulence.
